The chances are this will be your biggest ever purchase. This is why the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors advises property buyers to have a survey carried out before committing themselves to buying their new home. Our RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Home Buyer and Valuation Surveys (also called “Level 2 Surveys”) provide a detailed Report on the condition of your chosen property* and with our charges starting at just £400.00, house surveys needn't cost the earth and we aim to get your complete report to you with 3 working days of a survey inspection.

Because we do not sell property, Chappell & Co Surveyors Ltd., are fully independent surveyors and valuers, providing essential information relating to the condition and the asking price of your chosen property. Indeed if this is over or undervalued- it follows that our fees could be recovered several times over! We are RICS Registered Valuers and as such are bound by the RICS Rules & Regulations for professional property advisors.

We aim for our survey to either provide you with peace of mind that your purchase should be sound for years to come, or of course, advise you not to proceed due to serious defects. Please note that in some cases, it is necessary to recommend a more detailed survey such as a Building Survey.

We can also prepare an Open Market Valuation Report of your property, with a much shorter report which can be used also for “help-to-buy” or shared ownership properties, matrimonial, probate and capital gains tax valuations.

How Much Does it Cost?

Our fees start at £225.00 for Open Market Valuation Reports and start at £400.00 for Home Buyer Valuation Surveys. Please note that at the time of publishing, we are not VAT registered, saving you money compared to larger firms.

* please note that we do only carry our brief visual inspections of services such as gas, electricity and water but do not test these.
